After breakfast, the journey leads south into the Rif Mountains, where winding roads reveal deep valleys, pine forests, and dramatic peaks including Jbel Tidighine, the range’s highest summit. This scenic section perfectly introduces the spirit of your 12 days Morocco itinerary Tangier, blending mountain landscapes with quiet rural villages along the way. By early afternoon, you arrive in Chefchaouen, Morocco’s beloved “Blue Pearl,” a town painted in shades of sky and indigo since the 1930s. Day 4:Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Fes

Your day starts with a scenic drive south to Volubilis. Once there, walk through the ancient Roman city, where well-preserved columns and mosaic floors tell stories of life thousands of years ago. After exploring the site, you’ll continue to Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your Riad and relax for the night.

Day 5:Fes - Guided Cultural Discovery

This full day in Fes lets you see one of the world’s most amazing medieval cities. With a guided tour, you’ll enter Fes el-Bali, a medina full of nearly 9,000 narrow alleys that have stayed the same for centuries. You’ll explore artisan neighborhoods, historic mosques, religious schools, and the world’s oldest continuously operating university, Al-Karaouine.

A highlight of the day is the tanners’ district, where traditional leather-making methods are still used. You’ll enjoy a view from a terrace above the colorful dyeing pits before returning to your Riad for the night.

Day 6:Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Erg Chebbi

Today’s journey takes you through some of Morocco’s most beautiful and varied landscapes. You’ll stop first in Ifrane, a charming town with an alpine feel, often called “Little Switzerland.” Then you’ll head to Azrou, home to cedar forests and the playful Barbary macaque monkeys.

The road continues to Midelt and into the Ziz Valley, filled with palm trees and kasbah villages. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the edge of the Sahara Desert in Erg Chebbi. You’ll enjoy dinner and stay overnight at a desert Auberge.

Day 7:Sahara Exploration & Camel Trekking

Your desert experience starts with a cultural tour of the area. You’ll visit the Gnawa musicians in Khamlia village, share tea with a nomadic family living in traditional tents, and explore old mines and fossil-rich areas near the dunes.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll ride a camel across the golden dunes as the sun sets. Your evening will be in a private desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a big dinner, listen to Berber drumming, and watch the stars. You’ll stay the night in a Berber tent or return to the Auberge if you prefer.

Day 8:Erg Chebbi - Todra Gorge - Ouarzazate

You’ll wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before going back to the Auberge for breakfast. The route continues west toward the towering cliffs of Todra Gorge, a popular spot for hikers and climbers, and a highlight for many travelers along this 12 Days Tangier to Marrakech Tour.
